A New Story
If you were to take some time and evaluate your life from your earliest memories till now, what things come to mind? Do you feel blessed to have grown up in a home with parents who love you and taught you all about Jesus? Do you feel like life just isn’t fair because the home you grew up in was full of hurt, betrayal, and pain? Well, did you know, that no matter what has happened in your life up to this moment, it doesn’t have to define you anymore. There are so many kids that grow up in great homes, yet make choices that can cost them their life. But the opposite is true too. Maybe you grew up in a home that wasn’t great. Maybe it was anything but great. But that does not have to define you. That is not where your story ends. Truly, where you are right now, can be where it all begins.
It says in Jeremiah 1:5, that God knew you before you were born. Think about that! Before you were ever in existence God knew you. It says, He set you apart for this time. And He knew the things you were going to walk through. It doesn’t mean He caused the hard things, but He did know about them. He chose for you to be born, at that exact moment in history, for a huge purpose, for this very moment. God has a plan for your life! But so does the enemy. Who are you going to partner with? Who are you going to let win? Even if your past is full of chaos, you can partner with the One who calms the storm and leads you to victory. His plan is so much greater, and the rewards for choosing Him are love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, and more (Gal. 5:22-23)! If your life feels out of control, hard, and full of stress and anxiety, it’s time to run to Jesus and let Him change your story. He always has, and always will be right there with you!
Write down 3 things you would do if you knew God would help you accomplish them. Then begin to pray and ask Him how you can do them.
